The process:
Provided that one of the parties involved in the divorce does not want to oppose the divorce proceedings, court appearances are normally not necessary. This is because most divorces are agreed between the parties. How the assets of the couple are split and who will look after the children if any is all normally agreed between the parties and then just approved by the court.

The Basics of divorce
In order to be legally eligible for a divorce you must have been married for at least a year or longer. It will not possible to be granted a divorce otherwise.
The instigator of the divorce is known as the ‘petitioner’ and the other spouse is the ‘respondent’.
